McDonald's UAE Children's Books Boost Charity Efforts

McDonald’s UAE Introduces Special Ramadan Children's Books for Charity
In a new initiative that embodies the spirit of Ramadan and the tradition of giving, McDonald’s UAE has launched a unique children's book collection. This not only aims to entertain young readers but also connects the community for charitable purposes. The collection, comprising three books, is written by the famous Emirati author, Hamda Faraj, and illustrated by talented Emirati artist, Aisha Khalid. From each book sold, 5 dirhams will directly support the Red Crescent Medical Centre, the only healthcare establishment in the United Arab Emirates providing free service to those in need.
The books are exclusively available at McDonald’s UAE restaurants and through the McDonald’s app, allowing everyone to contribute to providing vital support to those in need. This year’s campaign not only enriches children's reading experiences but also reinforces the values of giving and community responsibility.
Long-Term Partnership and Significant Achievements
McDonald’s UAE and the Red Crescent have collaborated for over seven years, raising more than 4.5 million dirhams to support humanitarian efforts. During last year's Ramadan campaign, over 300,000 dirhams were collected, significantly aiding the center's operations. This close partnership continues this year, providing opportunities for giving not only during Ramadan but throughout the year. Customers can contribute to charity anytime via self-service kiosks and the McDonald’s app Rewards Points feature.
The book collection includes three captivating stories that take place in the United Arab Emirates, taking young readers on adventurous journeys. From an exciting fishing trip and an exploration of a palm plantation to an unforgettable treasure hunt, every story encourages children to explore the world while supporting the Red Crescent Medical Centre's mission.
For the Community and the Future
The head of the Red Crescent Medical Centre highlighted, “We are proud to once again partner with McDonald’s UAE for this Ramadan campaign. This initiative not only enriches children through the joy of reading but also strengthens our shared commitment to humanitarian support. Every book sold contributes to providing vital assistance to needy communities.”
Since 2008, the Red Crescent Medical Centre has been providing free health services in more than 18 departments, including general surgery, pediatrics, internal medicine, radiology, and more. McDonald’s UAE CEO Walid Fakih added, “Stories have the power to inspire and connect. Through our valuable partnership with the Red Crescent and collaboration with inspiring Emirati talents, we take another step towards supporting those who need it most. For more than three decades of local presence, our goal has always been to positively impact the community.”
How Can You Take Part in the Campaign?
The books are now available in all McDonald’s UAE restaurants and on the McDonald’s app for just 5 dirhams. Each purchase not only means a wonderful story for children but also a significant donation to support those in need.
