Dubai to Build 1,700 New Homes by 2028

More than 1,700 New Homes to be Built in Four Key Areas in Dubai by 2028
The United Arab Emirates has elevated its housing strategy to a new level following the announcement that nearly 2,000 residential properties will be delivered by 2028 in four major Dubai areas: Wadi Al Amardi, Al Awir, Hatta, and the Al Yalayis 5 districts. The projects are being carried out under the supervision of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment (MBRHE) and are an integral part of a comprehensive housing program approved in January 2025. The goal is to create housing stability and improve citizens' quality of life in line with Dubai's future-oriented vision.
Comprehensive Housing Program for Dubai's Future
The entire housing program includes 3,004 homes with a total value exceeding 5.4 billion dirhams. From these four key projects, the construction of 1,749 homes is already underway, representing a value of over 3.3 billion dirhams. The program embodies not just quantitative development but reflects a new approach: human-centered urban development, sustainable and modern infrastructure, and community building are at its core.
The leadership of MBRHE emphasized that the aim of the project package is to create integrated residential communities where families find not only homes but also security, comfort, and well-being. This approach fits seamlessly with the aspiration for Dubai to become the most liveable city in the world.
Wadi Al Amardi – Modern Homes for Family Well-being
The Wadi Al Amardi project consists of 432 apartments spread over 3.669 million square feet of land. The investment is valued at 767 million dirhams, with completion planned for the first quarter of 2026. The modern design of the homes prioritizes family stability and a healthy environment, while harmoniously integrating into the natural surroundings.
Al Awir – Advanced Infrastructure Tailored for Emirati Families
The Al Awir project involves the construction of 398 housing units on 3.217 million square feet of land. The total cost of the investment reaches 734 million dirhams, with completion also expected in the first quarter of 2026. A unique feature of the project is the advanced infrastructure and community facilities accompanying the homes, offering a living environment specifically tailored to the needs of Emirati families.
Hatta – Housing and Tourism Hand in Hand
The Hatta project is one of the program's most distinctive elements, with 213 homes being constructed on 2.654 million square feet of land. The 508 million-dirham investment is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2026. The transformation of the Hatta district symbolizes how a traditional community can be ushered onto the path of modernization while preserving its cultural heritage. The new homes also support the tourism development of the Hatta region, contributing to its evolution into a vibrant urban and tourist hub.
Al Yalayis 5 – The Sustainable Community of the Future
The Al Yalayis 5 project is the largest of the four: 706 homes will be built on nearly 7 million square feet of land, with a budget of 1.31 billion dirhams. Completion is expected in the fourth quarter of 2028. This project is a milestone in the development of sustainable residential communities and can serve as a model for the future residential districts of Dubai. The goal is not only to provide housing but to create an environment where residents can live safely, comfortably, and in a community for the long term.
Dubai's Housing Strategy: Putting People First
According to the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, the projects reflect Dubai's government's commitment to ensuring modern, sustainable, and dignified housing. The housing investments are not standalone entities but closely align with Dubai's economic, social, and environmental goals.
The projects play a crucial role in strengthening social stability and contribute in the long term to creating real homes for citizens – a space where family, community, and development coexist.
Closing Thoughts
The delivery of nearly 2,000 homes in four key Dubai areas is not merely construction, but a long-term social investment. These projects are the cornerstones of the future of Dubai, where sustainability, technology, cultural identity, and social cohesion advance hand in hand. Here, housing is not just living space but part of a vision where every citizen can live with dignity and stability – in a city that truly aims to be the most liveable place in the world.
