UAE Opens Doors for Green Innovators

180-Day Entry Permit for UAE Blue Residency Visa Application
The United Arab Emirates has taken another step towards attracting international professionals committed to environmental protection and sustainability: the 180-day multiple entry permit is now available for those applying for the 10-year Blue Residency visa. This special residence permit is for individuals who have made outstanding contributions to climate protection, renewable energy, and sustainable development.
What is Blue Residency?
Blue Residency is the first long-term visa in UAE history specifically targeting individuals dedicated to environmental protection. Visa holders can live and work in the country for 10 years, promoting initiatives that support innovation and environmental sustainability.
Who Can Apply?
Eligible candidates for the visa include:
Influential opinion leaders with significant impact in climate protection,
recognized researchers and scientists recommended by the UAE Scientific Council,
investors and entrepreneurs working in environmental fields,
inventors, innovators, and experts working in government or private environmental institutions.
How the 180-Day Multiple Entry Permit Works
The newly introduced permit is designed to facilitate the administrative processes for obtaining the Blue Residency visa for those residing abroad. With the permit, applicants can enter the UAE multiple times over 180 days (6 months) to finalize their visa application. This solution is similar to the pre-approval system known for the Golden Visa.
Application Process - In Just Five Steps
Applications are made via the UAEICP official website or mobile application. The online process takes about seven minutes and consists of the following steps:
1. Providing personal information,
2. uploading required documents (e.g., passport valid for at least 6 months, ID photo, documents supporting eligibility),
3. payment of the fee,
4. submission of the application,
5. evaluation completed within one working day.
Significance of the Blue Residency
The introduction of the Blue Residency visa sends a clear message: the UAE aims to be at the forefront of climate awareness and global environmental protection. In the initial phase of the initiative, announced in February at the World Government Summit, 20 sustainability professionals were already granted long-term residency rights.
The program fits into the existing series of Golden and Green visas but is unique in its focus, targeting applicants who achieve outstanding ecological and sustainability results.
Conclusion
The 180-day multiple entry permit leading to the Blue Residency visa is yet another example of the UAE's swift digital administration and strategic vision. With this, the country not only communicates an environmental message but also becomes an increasingly attractive destination for global green innovations.
