UAE National Guard Excels in Rescue Operations

Record-Breaking Rescues by UAE National Guard
The United Arab Emirates National Guard conducted a total of 347 search and rescue operations in the first six months of 2025, according to official statistics. These operations extended to land, sea, domestic, and international areas. Authorities say this achievement reflects not only the capacity for rapid response but also the success of modern technology and a coordinated operational framework.
Assisting on Land, Sea, and Beyond Borders
The National Search and Rescue Center (NSRC) carried out 218 operations independently. Among these were 63 emergency search and rescue missions and medical evacuations. Additionally, 18 domestic air rescues were conducted, and 13 operations involved international transportation, including the repatriation of patients by air or evacuating citizens in distress abroad.
The Coast Guard also played a significant role, completing 129 operations in the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman region. Statistics show that the sea receives significant attention in the UAE, not only from an economic but also from a security perspective.
Modern Equipment and Technology for Faster Response
The National Guard command highlighted that behind these successful interventions are the most modern equipment and next-generation communication systems. From smart drones to satellite tracking and helicopter rapid intervention units, everything is in place to ensure a response in the shortest possible time.
Equally important is the fact that the country's geographical features, from deserts to coastlines and mountains to urban environments, present different challenges. However, the training of teams and the technical equipment allow them to adapt quickly to these conditions.
Where to Turn in Emergencies?
Authorities urge the public to immediately call the relevant helplines in case of an emergency:
Search and Rescue Helpline: 995
Marine Emergencies (Coast Guard): 996
These numbers are available 24/7 and open to all citizens as well as foreign residents who may urgently need assistance.
Why Is This Important to All of Us?
Quick and efficient rescue can save lives, whether it's an accident while hiking, falling into water, or a car accident in a hard-to-reach location. The presence and intervention capability of the National Guard provide security not only for citizens but also for tourists and expats living here.
Such reports and statistics remind us that a developed country is measured not just in terms of technology or infrastructure but also in its ability to protect and assist its residents in the toughest situations.
