UAE Launches First Locally-Made Electric Motorcycle

First Locally-Made Electric Motorcycle Launches in July
The United Arab Emirates has taken another step forward in sustainable transportation: they have unveiled the first fully locally designed and manufactured electric motorcycle. Revealed at the "Make it in the Emirates" exhibition in Abu Dhabi, the X7 model brings together sustainability, innovation, and national identity—it's no coincidence that its design was inspired by the country's seven emirates and the national bird, the falcon.
What Can the X7 Electric Motorbike Do?
The X7 has a range of up to 200 kilometers on a fully charged battery, which is especially important for daily commutes or package delivery tasks. The price range is between 12,000 and 15,000 dirhams, depending on the equipment level chosen by the buyer. The top speed of the motorcycle can reach 180 km/h, making it suitable for both urban and suburban transportation.
Dubai Becomes a Hub for Electric Vehicle Manufacturing
The manufacturing startup has already set up two factories: one in the National Industrial Park and another in Dubai Industrial City. The product is currently in the testing phase, but the company promises an official launch by July. The first customers will include private individuals and courier companies, particularly those involved in "last-mile" delivery.
The company also plans further expansions in Abu Dhabi, specifically within the Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (Kezad) area.
Battery Swap in 2 Minutes
One of the most interesting innovations is the introduction of quick battery swap stations. These allow couriers to replace a depleted battery with a fully charged one in just two minutes. Initially, the system will be launched in four-kilometer radius zones, which will gradually expand later.
This not only increases efficiency but also competitiveness, as rapid delivery is now crucial in the commercial sector.
Innovation in the Name of Safety
The company has not stopped at the motorcycle: they have also introduced the Thunderbolt X Next Gen fleet management system. This platform provides real-time data and analytics from battery cells to driving behavior to security camera analysis. A camera integrated into the X7 monitors the blind spot, a rarity in two-wheeled vehicles and a significant advance in accident prevention.
Three-Wheeled Vehicles Coming
In the future, the company also plans to manufacture three-wheeled vehicles in Dubai, not only for the local market but also for Africa and other international markets. These vehicles are particularly popular in countries where there is strong demand for low-cost, easily maintainable modes of transportation.
Summary
The introduction of the X7 is a milestone in several respects: it opens new horizons in electric mobility, reinforces Dubai and the UAE's role in innovation, and promotes sustainable transportation both locally and globally. The battery swap stations, safety-focused technology, and manufacturing expansions all indicate that the country not only wants to use but also manufacture future mobility solutions.
