UAE Celebrates 2025 Milestones in Growth

Eid Al Etihad 2025: Economic and Tourism Triumph of the UAE
In 2025, the United Arab Emirates celebrates its 54th anniversary, known as Eid Al Etihad, a celebration that not only holds historical significance but also reflects the country's impressive economic and tourism growth. Based on the results of the first eleven months of 2025, it can be stated that the UAE has set a new benchmark globally, particularly in the attractiveness of the business environment, the standard of hospitality, and tourism.
More than 220,000 New Businesses Join UAE Market
Since the beginning of the year, over 220,186 new businesses have registered in the United Arab Emirates. This number is impressive on its own, but it's even more significant considering that over 36,000 domestic and international trademarks have also entered the local market during the same period. This latter figure represents a 48.2% increase compared to the same period last year. This demonstrates that the UAE's legal and economic environment is continuously strengthening, with more foreign businesses and investors seeing long-term potential in it.
Tourism Breaks New Records
The tourism sector remains one of the brightest gems of the country's economy. In the first nine months of this year, hotels in the Emirates hosted 23.27 million guests, a 4.9% increase compared to the same period last year. The number of room bookings exceeded 79.3 million nights, which represents not only a quantitative but also a qualitative advance.
Hotel revenues also significantly increased, rising by 7.2% to over 35.9 billion dirhams. The number of available rooms expanded to 216,248, which are found in 1,246 different hotel units across the country. The occupancy rate reached 79.2%, which is a 1.8% improvement, while the average length of stay also slightly increased from 3.38 to 3.41 nights. The ADR (average daily rate) also rose from 534 dirhams to 557 dirhams, reflecting the successful balance of demand and pricing strategy.
Global Recognition and Tourism Awards
The international community is paying increasing attention to UAE tourism. Masfout Village has won the title of "World's Best Tourism Village 2025", while the UAE was ranked among the world's seven largest international tourism spender destinations. Additionally, the country received outstanding recognition when Sheikha Nasser Al Nowais was appointed Secretary-General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization.
Economic Growth Emphasizing Diversification
The economic performance is also remarkable. The UAE's real GDP grew by 4.2% in the first half of 2025 compared to last year. Particularly outstanding is the 5.7% growth of the non-oil sector, which now accounts for 77.5% of GDP. This clearly shows that the country is successfully implementing its economic diversification strategy, aimed at establishing a sustainable and versatile economic model.
Legislation: Stronger Foundations for the Future
In 2025, the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism adopted 11 new economic laws and 8 regulatory decrees. These laws cover areas such as ecotourism, food security, aviation, competition regulation, and sustainability. The new regulations aim to make the country even more attractive to foreign investors while ensuring the competitiveness and stability of the national economy.
On the Path to 2031 Goals
The ministry emphasized that the strategic plan – We the UAE 2031 – remains at the forefront. The goal is to double the country's economy, reaching 3 trillion dirhams, and to make the Emirates one of the leading centers of the world's new economies.
Summary
Eid Al Etihad 2025 is not just a national holiday but also a milestone in the history of the United Arab Emirates. The number of newly registered businesses, the rise in hotel guests and revenues, as well as the legal and economic reforms all indicate that the UAE is getting closer to the vision envisaged by the leadership for 2031. Dubai and the entire country are setting an example not only regionally but also globally in how to blend the respect for the past with building the future.
Therefore, Eid Al Etihad is not just a retrospective on unity and history but also a powerful look forward to the development arc that has elevated the United Arab Emirates to one of the world's most competitive and recognized nations.
