Two School Buses Collide: Safety Alert in UAE

Two School Buses Collide in UAE – Students Unharmed
The issue of traffic safety has once again come to the forefront in the United Arab Emirates after two school buses were involved in a minor accident in a busy residential area of Ajman. According to the police, fortunately, no one was injured in the incident, the students were safe, and there was no need for medical intervention.
What Exactly Happened?
The accident occurred in the al Mowaihat district, and investigations revealed that the school bus following behind did not maintain a proper following distance and, at a slow pace, collided with the vehicle in front. Ajman police rushed to the scene immediately after the incident and took the necessary measures, including proceedings against the violating driver.
Misunderstanding Surrounding Sharjah
During the dissemination of information related to transportation incidents, the UAE National Ambulance also reported another, more serious accident. According to reports, 13 students and a teacher were injured when two school buses collided on the national highway 311. Initial reports suggested the incident occurred in the Sharjah area, but this was later officially refuted. The exact location has not been disclosed yet, but the investigation is ongoing.
Traffic Safety Remains a Priority
UAE authorities have been focusing on traffic safety for years, especially concerning vehicles transporting schoolchildren. The police regularly remind drivers to maintain safe following distances, adhere to speed limits, and the importance of attentive driving. The most severe traffic violations can result in fines up to 200,000 dirhams.
Lesson: Following Distance Is Not Optional
Although the Ajman accident concluded without consequences, it once again highlighted that there is no place for inattention in traffic – particularly when transporting children. Ensuring the safety of school buses is not only the responsibility of the drivers but also reflects the entire traffic culture.
