Traffic Change Alert for Al Qudra Road

Traffic Diversion on Al Qudra Road from June 22: What to Expect?
The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that a temporary traffic diversion will be implemented at the Al Qudra Road Arabian Ranches intersection starting June 22, 2025. This measure is expected to last for five months and aims to facilitate the development of intersections and ensure smoother traffic flow in the affected section.
What's Changing?
The traffic light control at the intersection between Al Qudra Road and Arabian Ranches–Dubai Studio City will be removed. Simultaneously, the RTA will restructure the traffic management to reduce congestion, especially during morning and afternoon peak hours. The new design aims to ensure a continuous flow with the following major changes:
The traffic light at the mentioned intersection will be removed.
Through traffic will be redirected so that vehicles can bypass the intersection and continue in both directions between Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street.
Two new non-lighted turnaround options will be created on the route.
Why is This Necessary?
The surroundings of Al Qudra Road – particularly Arabian Ranches, Dubai Studio City, and nearby residential areas – have continuously developed over recent years, leading to increased traffic. The current project aims to improve accessibility in the long run, reduce the number of accidents, and provide faster and safer travel for commuters in the area.
What Does the RTA Advise?
The authority advises commuters to:
Plan their routes in advance,
Leave earlier, especially in the morning hours,
Avoid peak hours if possible.
While some minor disruptions might occur in the first days due to the temporary changes, the long-term goal is for a much smoother and more modern road network to serve the needs of the population.
Summary
The transformation of Al Qudra Road can potentially make life easier not only for locals but also for commuters traveling to different parts of Dubai in the future. This investment is part of infrastructure development efforts aimed at establishing an intelligent, safe, and efficient transportation system in the emirate. Patience is more important now than ever – in return, we will receive a more modern road section.
