Topgolf Takes Yas Island by Storm

Topgolf Arrives at Abu Dhabi's Yas Island - Elevating Entertainment to a New Level
The name Yas Island increasingly brings to mind entertainment, adrenaline, and a multitude of experiences. The island is already home to the UAE's most popular attractions - Ferrari World, SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, Warner Bros. World, and Yas Waterworld - and by 2026 will be enriched with another iconic facility: Topgolf Yas Island is coming.
A Proven Concept Continues
The Topgolf brand is not unknown in the UAE. The Topgolf Dubai, which opened five years ago, proved to be a massive success: it attracted over 2.7 million visitors and recorded more than 85 million golf balls hit. The Dubai site demonstrated the huge demand for interactive sports and entertainment venues, especially those combined with digital experiences. Topgolf added a new dimension to golf: it is not just a sport but a social event, dining opportunity, and digital game all in one.
Now, the same model is being carried forward in the heart of Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
Spectacular Development: 28% Complete
The project is being developed by Miral in collaboration with Viya, the official franchise operator of Topgolf in the UAE. The construction is currently 28 percent complete and is expected to be fully finished by 2026. The facility is planned to cover a gross area of 6,500 square meters, connected to an outdoor driving range of around 19,000 square meters.
It is not just a sports facility - it is a complete experience park that will welcome everyone from players to spectators to families.
The Convergence of Technology and Entertainment
At Topgolf Abu Dhabi, visitors will enjoy the game with the state-of-the-art TopTracer ball tracking technology. This allows them to see in real-time where and how far they have hit, compete in interactive games, and compare results. The facility will include 82 climate-controlled hitting bays, including 8 VIP bays, providing comfortable experiences even in the summer - an important aspect in the UAE.
One does not need to be a professional golfer: the site welcomes players of all levels - from complete beginners to serious practitioners.
More Than Just Golf
The complex will span three levels and offer services beyond sports. The lower level will feature a VR (virtual reality) hitting area, practice fields, lounge areas, grassy areas suitable for events, and a pro shop where all necessary golf equipment can be acquired. The upper floors will house various restaurants, a sports lounge, sky lounges with terraces, and an arcade zone. The flexible event spaces will accommodate corporate events, team-building activities, and private functions.
This versatility ensures that visitors will not only come to golf but to spend time, relax, and socialize.
Strengthening Yas Island's Offering
The arrival of Topgolf fits well with Yas Island's strategy to become one of the region's most attractive tourist and entertainment centers. The golf complex complements the existing sports and theme parks while targeting specific audiences: those interested in golf, those seeking technological innovations, and those who enjoy premium entertainment.
The island is already home to two major golf courses - the Yas Links Abu Dhabi and Yas Acres Golf and Country Club - making the new Topgolf center an ideal addition to the professional and leisure golf infrastructure.
Abu Dhabi's Future is Being Built
The realization of Topgolf is not only significant economically - creating jobs and increasing tourism appeal - but culturally as well. The combination of entertainment and sport elevates to a new level, engaging the entire family, and creates new community spaces.
This new project is another step towards Abu Dhabi's goal to be not just an economic center but a vibrant, diverse, and innovative city. Topgolf Yas Island will serve not only the local population but will also become a favorite destination for tourists, companies, student groups, and sports enthusiasts.
Summary
The Topgolf Yas Island project once again proves that Abu Dhabi is capable of redefining what it means to blend sports and entertainment. Adapting the successful model in Dubai to a new location is not just copying but expanding: the aim is to create an even more diverse, modern, and visitor-friendly environment.
As the 2026 opening approaches, it is increasingly clear that Topgolf Yas Island will set a new standard in the region's entertainment industry - with the existing infrastructure of Yas Island providing the perfect foundation.
