Therme Dubai: The Tallest Wellness Sanctuary

Therme Dubai: Floating Gardens and Thermal Springs – Here's What the World's Tallest Wellness Resort Will Look Like
Therme Dubai – Islands in the Sky is not just a building; it is an architectural marvel that opens new dimensions for the integration of wellness and urban living. Scheduled to open in 2028, the project will not only be a new symbol of the Dubai skyline but a place where nature, water, and culture meet in perfect harmony. Imagine a botanical garden where you can admire the Dubai skyline from thermal pools – this will be the tallest wellness resort in the world.
The core of the project: Floating Gardens and Cascading Pools
Therme Dubai will be a tower more than 100 meters tall, featuring layers of botanical islands stacked upon each other. Each island offers platforms for thermal pools, sun terraces, and lush vegetation, both indoors and outdoors. The resort will cover an area of 500,000 square feet, capable of welcoming 1.7 million visitors annually. The project is part of Dubai's Quality of Life 2033 Strategy and will be situated in Zabeel Park, next to the Royal Palace.
According to the founder and CEO of the Therme Group, the project aims to showcase how nature, water, and culture can be integrated into cities to enhance the quality of life. The official announcement of the project was made by Dubai's Crown Prince, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who emphasized that the city is investing 2 billion dirhams in developing this new iconic structure.
A 'Sky Oasis'
Diller Scofidio + Renfro's founding partner, who is also involved in the project's design, described the resort as a 'sky oasis.' Visitors will experience everything from the intense heat of saunas and steam baths to the soothing temperatures of thermal and mineral water pools, all within a unique environment.
"During the day, the atmosphere is meditative and relaxing, while at night, music, artistic performances, and events bring the spaces to life," explained Diller. "We are excited to be part of merging Therme's innovative approach with the tradition of public baths and Dubai's iconic architectural heritage."
Sustainability in Focus
Therme Dubai is not only spectacular but also sustainable. Ninety percent of the water used in the tower will be recycled, while about 80 percent of the fresh air and cooling needs will be met through clean energy sources. This project is not just a luxury wellness resort but also an example of how modern urban developments can be realized in an environmentally friendly manner.
Architectural Feat and Community Space
Construction of the tower will begin in 2026, and it is already considered an architectural feat. The resort is designed not only for wellness enthusiasts but also for lovers of culture and community life. In addition to cascading pools, hanging gardens, and layered terraces, a range of cultural events and social spaces are planned to connect people and enrich experiences.
What to Expect in 2028?
With the opening of Therme Dubai in 2028, a new era will begin in Dubai city. This project is not just a new tourist destination but a place where modern technology, sustainability, and nature converge. It offers visitors a unique experience where relaxation, culture, and community unite within a stunning architectural framework.
Thus, Therme Dubai is not just a wellness resort but an urban icon, elevating the quality of urban life to new heights, showcasing how the cities of the future can be made more livable and awe-inspiring. It's worth waiting for 2028 to personally experience this 'sky oasis.'
