A local trader mentioned that Mabroom dates currently range between Dh10 to Dh30 per kilogram, depending on quality. "The prices are quite affordable at the moment, but as Ramadan approaches and demand increases, prices are likely to rise," he stated.

Mejdool dates, popular and sourced from Palestine, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia, are priced between Dh20 and Dh40 per kilogram. Another trader noted that Mejdool dates are always in high demand during Ramadan. "Current prices are stable, but we're expecting them to increase as people start buying in larger quantities," he explained.

Traders report that Safari dates are currently priced at Dh20/kg, while Amber dates, known for their large size, start at Dh35/kg. Sukkari dates, famous for their natural sweetness, range from Dh15 to Dh25, whereas Ajwa dates from Medina, a favorite during Ramadan, are priced between Dh30 and Dh50. Sagai dates, particularly popular during family gatherings, are available at Dh20/kg.

Fresh Dates and Local Favorites

Among fresh dates, the Khallas variety can be found in markets. These semi-ripe dates require refrigeration and are especially popular among locals. Khallas dates are a local produce and play a significant traditional role during Ramadan. "People are already purchasing in large quantities to ensure they have enough for the holy month. Khallas dates are currently priced at Dh25/kg," a trader mentioned.

Traders at Sharjah's Al Jubail Market are also preparing for the Ramadan rush. A local trader indicated that new shipments are expected soon, which might lead to significant price increases. "Those looking to purchase in bulk should do so now before prices start rising," he advised.
