Largest Pakistani Independence Day in Dubai

The Dubai Expo City was this year's special venue for Pakistan's 78th Independence Day celebrations, which became the largest event of its kind in the world. Daytime programs lasted until midnight, featuring diverse musical and cultural performances, traditional foods, and a festive atmosphere that strengthened the solidarity of the Pakistani community and the close relationship with the UAE.
Record Attendance and Cultural Extravaganza
More than 60,000 registered participants represented a wide range of age groups, from infants to the elderly. Visitors arrived in national and traditional attire, while Pakistani performers showcased the cultural diversity of the country through music, dance, and folk costumes. Artists from various provinces and regions, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, collectively created a program that was both spectacular and emotionally uplifting.
Food enthusiasts were not left without experience: dozens of food stalls offered the flavors of Pakistan, from traditional dishes to modern, fusion cuisines. The long lines and aromas both indicated that gastronomy was a highlighted part of the celebration.
The UAE and Pakistan Friendship
The event prominently featured the strong diplomatic and cultural relationship between the two countries. Speeches highlighted that Pakistan is one of the UAE’s most important partners, and the Pakistani community has been actively contributing to the country's economic development for decades.
Organizers, including the “Emirates Loves Pakistan” platform and the Pakistan Association in Dubai, aimed to allow the local Pakistani community to celebrate their country's independence in a dignified manner, while also strengthening the sense of belonging.
Strengthening Relations and Joint Projects
Pakistan was the first country to officially recognize the newly formed UAE in 1971. Since then, the relationship between the two countries has continually expanded, not only in political and cultural but also economic fields. Over the past twenty years, UAE investments in Pakistan have exceeded 10 billion dollars, particularly in the telecommunications, tourism, oil and gas, banking sector, and real estate market.
In 2025, several strategic agreements were made, including cooperation supporting governmental modernization, aiding development through knowledge sharing and institutional capacity building.
A Celebration That Connects
The significance of this year’s event is not only measured by the number of participants. The festival held in Dubai was also a celebration of cultural diversity, mutual respect, and the brotherly relationship between the two countries. Thanks to the program’s success, there is every chance that in the coming years, even larger-scale events will follow, further strengthening the role of the Pakistani community in the UAE's social and economic life.
