Emirates Launches Global Pilot Recruitment Campaign

Emirates seeks over 1,500 new pilots: global hiring spree at Dubai's airline
In response to the ever-growing demands of global air travel, Dubai's national airline, Emirates, has announced an ambitious pilot recruitment campaign: over the next two years, it aims to employ more than 1,500 new pilots. This move aligns with the company's continuous expansion and its commitment to operate one of the world's most modern fleets with the most skilled personnel.
International roadshow in over 40 cities
In 2024, the Emirates recruitment team will conduct presentations and interviews in more than 40 cities worldwide to find experienced professionals ready to join the airline. During the year, they plan to recruit over 550 pilots. Successful recruitments have already taken place in Italy in April, with Norway, Finland, and Sweden following in May.
Applicants can choose from four different programs
The Dubai-based airline offers four different entry programs for pilots with various backgrounds:
Direct Entry Captain – direct captaincy recruitment for those with significant flying experience
Accelerated Command – an accelerated promotion program preparing first officers for captain roles
First Officers Type Rated – for first officers already qualified on a particular aircraft type
First Officers Non-Type Rated – for first officers without type qualifications, willing to complete the necessary training
Currently, more than 80 pilots are progressing towards captaincy through the Accelerated Command program.
Outstanding benefits and quality of life
The benefits offered by Emirates are competitive on a global scale: tax-free salary, profit sharing, excellent pension fund, and insurance package (life, health, and dental insurance) are included. Additionally, pilots can enjoy the comforts of urban global living in Dubai and the opportunities provided by its transportation hub.
Modern fleet, global presence
Emirates pilots fly one of the youngest and most modern fleets in the world: the 261-strong fleet consists solely of wide-body aircraft, including Airbus A380s, Boeing 777s, and the new A350 models. The continuous expansion and upgrading of the fleet provide opportunities for professional development of the crew.
Belonging to the pilot community
The newly hired pilots will join Emirates' current flight crew of 4,600, which combines expertise, global experience, and international diversity. Nearly 2,000 new pilots have joined the team in the past two years, and this number is set to increase further.
Summary
Emirates' global recruitment campaign not only reflects the airline's growth but also its long-term vision to provide world-class service to its passengers. The career opportunity offered to pilots provides not only financial security and professional growth but also a lifestyle centered around Dubai's dynamic city and the excitement of international aviation.
