Eid Celebrations Shimmer in UAE: Four-Day Festivity

Eid Al Fitr Celebrations Begin in UAE: A Four-Day Festival Starting March 30
In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the sighting of the Shawwal moon marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan and the beginning of the Eid Al Fitr celebrations. Authorities have confirmed that the festival starts on Sunday, March 30, allowing residents to enjoy a four-day break to celebrate one of the most important Islamic festivals.
Timing of Eid Al Fitr and Official Holidays
Based on moon sighting, March 30 (Ramadan 30) will also be a holiday, hence the official festive period lasts from March 30 to April 2. This coincides with the UAE's previously announced holiday calendar, indicating Eid Al Fitr runs from Shawwal 1 to Shawwal 3. However, this year, the government has decided to declare Ramadan’s last day as a holiday, extending the festive period for everyone.
The Fatwa Council had previously urged the country's Muslims to observe the Shawwal moon on Saturday night, the 29th day of Ramadan. After successful observation, the beginning of Eid Al Fitr was officially announced.
Eid Prayer Times
The Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities (IACAD) confirmed that Eid prayers in Dubai will commence at 6:30 am in all mosques.
Time: 6:30 am
Locations: More than 680 mosques and prayer sites across Dubai
The specific prayer timing can be found in official sources from the North American Islamic Foundation and Zakat officials.

The Significance of Eid Al Fitr
Eid Al Fitr signifies not only the breaking of the fast but also a celebration of community cohesion, love, and joy.
