The Dubai Metro Blue Line (Blue Line) project is among the latest transportation investments in the United Arab Emirates, aiming to connect different parts of Dubai more effectively. The other direction departs from the Red Line's Centrepoint station in the Al Rashidiya area, passing through the Mirdif and Al Warqa neighborhoods. This 9-kilometer stretch connects to the International City (1) central interchange station via four stations.

The new line not only links the existing metro network but also prominently serves residential and industrial areas expected to house approximately one million people by 2040. A unique feature of the Blue Line is that it allows direct access to Dubai International Airport in just 20 minutes – significantly easing transport for residents and tourists alike.

The project aims to realize the "20-minute city" vision, where 80 percent of the population can reach essential services – such as education, healthcare, or transportation – within 20 minutes.

The technical progress of the project is also noteworthy: over 260 deep foundation tasks have been completed at various locations, and at the three stations in International City, over 400,000 cubic meters of earth have been excavated. The first support columns have been erected near Dubai Academic City, while underground retaining walls have been completed at the International City (1) station. These developments pave the way for the faster execution of subsequent phases.

The construction consortium has established two concrete plants and two precast element storage and manufacturing facilities in the Al Ruwayyah 3 and International City areas. This allows for continuous quality control, transparency of the supply chain, and reduced delivery times. The advantage of on-site production lies in reducing dependency on external suppliers and speeding up the construction process.
