Dubai's Innovative Family Support Program Unveiled
10-Day Paid Marriage Leave and Other Initiatives in New Family Support Program
Dubai once again demonstrates its commitment to the well-being and happiness of families living in the Emirate. Announced under the Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Program, the new initiatives aim to support the stability, growth, and improve the quality of life of Emirati families. The initial phase of the new program introduces several innovative measures, including a 10-day paid marriage leave and the option for new mothers to work remotely on Fridays.
Marriage Leave and Support for Mothers
Under the program, spouses working in Dubai government offices receive a 10-day paid leave after their marriage. This measure supports strengthening the bond between couples and ensures the harmonious beginning of their life together.
Furthermore, mothers returning from maternity leave can work from home on Fridays during their first year back. This flexibility significantly helps mothers balance their work and family life.
Financial and Housing Support
As part of the program, beneficiaries of the Dubai Weddings program have their monthly mortgage repayment set at a minimum of 3,333 dirhams, provided their monthly income does not exceed 30,000 dirhams. This measure particularly benefits Emirati couples who aspire to create their own home but have limited financial resources.
The program also collaborates with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment to prioritize the allocation of ready houses for Dubai Weddings program mortgage applicants. This provides newlyweds the opportunity to move into their new homes faster and under better conditions.
Free Wedding Support
The Dubai Weddings program was launched in January 2024 to cover the main costs of wedding ceremonies. The program provides free wedding halls and community Majlis, further aiding Emirati couples in reducing the financial burdens of weddings.
Supporting Families for Future Generations
According to Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum, strong families represent the key to the future. "We are committed to making the dreams of every Emirati family come true in Dubai. Our goal is to ensure lasting happiness and stability, while helping them raise future generations who can shape a brighter tomorrow."
Significance of the Program
The Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Program aims to improve the quality of life for Emirati families and promote work-life balance. The initiatives, which include financial, social, and educational support, not only positively impact the everyday lives of families but also contribute to the long-term development of the entire society.
These new measures offer unprecedented support to Emirati families, reinforcing Dubai's role as one of the world's most progressive and family-friendly cities. The program not only provides material security but also strengthens the sense of community belonging, which is essential for sustainable social development.
