Dubai Ride 2025: A Cycling Extravaganza

Dubai Ride 2025: A Great Day with Extended Metro Times, Free Careem Bikes, and Road Closures
In the early morning of November 2, Dubai will once again spring into action as this year's Dubai Ride kicks off, marking a highlight event during the Dubai Fitness Challenge month. As one of the United Arab Emirates' largest community cycling events, it welcomes thousands of participants once more, set against the city's most famous streets and iconic landmarks.
Extended Metro Times for Smooth Transportation
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced well in advance that the Dubai Metro schedule will be significantly extended on November 2. The metro will run from 3:00 AM until midnight, offering seamless travel to participants, volunteers, and supporters. This is particularly beneficial for those arriving from distant parts of the city and aiming to reach the start line on time.
Alongside the expanded metro service, Careem Bike will be available for free to registered participants. Bicycles can be used between 3:00 AM and 8:00 AM, and no extra fees will be charged for rides exceeding 45 minutes during this period.
Special Road Closures from 3:30 AM to 10:30 AM
To ensure that thousands of cyclists enjoy the Dubai Ride experience safely, the RTA has implemented numerous road closures. The most significant closure affects Sheikh Zayed Road, one of the event's main venues. These closures will be in effect from 3:30 AM to 10:30 AM, and motorists are advised to use alternative routes and plan their morning trips accordingly.
Additionally, Salik – Dubai's toll gate operator – has made adjustments to toll fees for the day of the event. Parts of the route will be exempt from toll fees due to temporary traffic diversions.
Dubai Ride: Not Just for Professionals
The Dubai Ride isn't just a platform for competitive athletes. This event is truly for everyone: from families with young children to beginner cyclists and participants in wheelchairs, all are offered the opportunity to actively engage in the Dubai Fitness Challenge series.
Registered participants can choose between two main routes:
The 12 km route runs along the famous Sheikh Zayed Road, offering cyclists the chance to ride past iconic Dubai landmarks such as the Museum of the Future, the Dubai Water Canal, and the Burj Khalifa.
The 4 km loop takes place around Downtown Dubai, designed in a family-friendly pace and environment, making it suitable even for small children.
Special Access for People of Determination
In the spirit of inclusivity, the RTA is once again providing a separate entry point for 'People of Determination'—individuals with physical or intellectual challenges. This section welcomes participants using special equipment, such as hand cycles, tandem bicycles, or other adapted vehicles.
Speed Laps: For the Speed Enthusiasts
For those looking not only to relax but also to challenge their performance, Speed Laps sections are available. These segments are exclusively for race bicycles, and participants are required to maintain a speed of at least 30 km/h. This ensures that advanced athletes can find their own challenges during the event.
Encouraging a Month-Long Movement – Dubai Fitness Challenge
The Dubai Ride is closely linked to the Dubai Fitness Challenge series, which encourages residents of the Emirates to engage in at least 30 minutes of daily physical activity for 30 days. The Dubai Ride is a flagship event in this series, promoting not only physical activity but also providing a community experience.
The whole city comes together, as friends, families, and colleagues set out together to enjoy the joys of a healthy lifestyle on an inspiring morning. The event is particularly popular among schoolchildren, university students, and corporate teams, who participate wearing matching shirts, carrying banners, and many smiles.
Summary: All Set for a Memorable Morning
Dubai Ride 2025 once again proves that Dubai can unite the community for a common goal: celebrating healthy living, community activity, and love for the city. The extended metro times, free bike rentals, road closures ensuring safe routes, and diverse distances ensure that each participant finds the pace and form that suits them.
As the sun rises behind the Burj Khalifa and the cyclists ride down Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai Ride offers an experience that refreshes both body and soul. An event that is a must-experience—whether on a bike or cheering from the sidelines.
