Dubai Police Unleash Tactical Robot Power

Dubai Police Deploy Tactical Robot for Hazardous Operations
Dubai Police have taken another step forward in technological advancements by introducing their latest tactical robot, specifically developed for deployment in narrow, dangerous, or unpredictable terrains. The lightweight yet robustly built robot aims to enhance on-site operational safety and efficiency while minimizing the risks associated with human intervention.
High-tech Solutions on the Field
Named Caliber® Mini-FLEX, the robot weighs just 36.7 kg but is capable of transporting objects weighing up to 11 kg. Its unique feature is its ability to climb stairs angled up to 45 degrees, which can be particularly useful in multi-storey buildings, dilapidated areas, or zones difficult to access. The device is maneuvered by articulated front and rear legs, allowing for highly flexible control.
The robot is equipped with front and rear cameras, along with a high-resolution zoom function. A camera mounted on its arm is supported by infrared and white LED lighting, enabling operations in low-light conditions – be it dark tunnels, enclosed spaces, or nighttime missions.
Intelligent Control and Teamwork
The Caliber® Mini-FLEX can be controlled in two ways: via a touchscreen portable unit or a game console-style controller. Using IP Mesh technology, multiple FLEX units can work together simultaneously, forming a sort of digital team. This is particularly important for mass events, hostage situations, or explosive environments.
The device is not only suited for surveillance: it includes an integrated water-based disarming system that does not cause recoil and is equipped with a weapons camera, starter loop, and collision detector. Operators can track the robot's position, operation, and the status of its tools in real time through a 3D interface.
Strategic Importance and Vision
The introduction of the robot aligns well with Dubai Police's goal of becoming an intelligent, quickly responsive, and technologically advanced law enforcement entity. They emphasize that this tactical robot is not just another gadget but a tool for safe and effective response in situations where human lives may be at risk.
Collaboration with international technology companies such as ICOR further demonstrates that Dubai Police are committed to adopting global best practices, while tailoring them to their own objectives and strategies.
