Dubai Introduces Innovative Ticketless Parking System

New Ticketless Parking for Deira Enrichment Project Residents and Visitors

Dubai's innovations have come to the forefront once again, as Salik announced the introduction of ticketless parking for residents and visitors at the Deira Enrichment Project area. The new system uses vehicle license plates as digital tickets, eliminating the need for physical parking tickets or separate payment applications.

Salik and Parkonic, one of the largest private parking operators in the UAE, have entered into a five-year cooperation agreement. During this period, Parkonic will integrate Salik's e-wallet system into more than 107 locations, including future openings not only in Dubai but in other emirates as well.

Residents in the Deira Enrichment Project area can secure a membership for 5,000 dirhams annually (excluding VAT) through the Parkonic app, while visitor membership is 7,500 dirhams annually (excluding VAT). The hourly rate is 5 dirhams, with overnight parking costing 25 dirhams, including VAT. This system offers convenience and speed, as visitors can automatically pay using their Salik account unless they choose a different payment method.

It's important to note that if a visitor does not have a Salik account or if there are insufficient funds in it, they must choose another payment method before leaving the parking lot. Failure to do so could result in fines, blacklisting, or legal actions.

Salik is expanding not only in the parking sector. The company has previously partnered with several commercial partners, such as Emaar Mall, Dubai Mall, and Union Coop, to enhance its services. Additionally, on January 21 of this year, variable toll rates were introduced, with 6 dirhams during peak hours (6:00–10:00 and 16:00–20:00), 4 dirhams during off-peak hours (10:00–16:00 and 20:00–1:00), and free passage during nighttime (1:00–6:00). On Sundays, the toll is 4 dirhams all day except late at night.

This new ticketless parking system clearly indicates Dubai's commitment to digital solutions and urban convenience. It is anticipated that Salik will further expand into other areas, elevating urban mobility to new levels.
