Changeable UAE Weather Looms Ahead

Changeable Weather Expected in UAE Until November 7
In the first week of November, the United Arab Emirates is expected to experience changeable weather, a natural aspect of the autumn-winter seasonal transition. Meteorological forecasts indicate that between November 3 and November 7, several regions of the country will see partly cloudy to overcast skies, intermittent rain, lively winds, and a slight drop in temperature. Sea conditions will also vary from mild to moderate, and may even turn rough occasionally.
What's behind this?
According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), this unstable weather is a result of the transitional period between seasons. The meeting of autumn and winter weather patterns increases the likelihood of cloud formation, particularly in the western and coastal parts of the country. Temperature fluctuations, fresh winds, and rainy periods are all symptoms of this transition. The aim is to moderate temperatures and balance atmospheric conditions across much of the country.
Monday: Foggy morning, clouds and light rain
On Monday morning, coastal and inland areas can expect fog, followed by partly cloudy skies. Low clouds may appear over coastal islands and regions, bringing light rain. Temperatures will slightly decrease, with the lowest recorded temperature, for instance in the Raknah area (near Al Ain), being just 13.7°C at 6:45 AM. Winds will blow from the northwest, with a mild to moderate strength, occasionally strengthening to 40 km/h. In the Arabian Gulf, sea states will range from mild to moderate, occasionally becoming rough, while in the Gulf of Oman, it will remain mild.
Tuesday: Dusty air and strengthening winds
On Tuesday, foggy mornings can be expected along the coast and inland areas. Throughout the day, skies will be partly cloudy to overcast, especially in the west and coastal regions. Dusty air may also develop in the northern and eastern parts of the country. Winds will start from the southeast, then shift to the northwest, reaching 10–25 km/h, sometimes up to 40 km/h. At sea, both the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman will continue to experience mild to moderate wave conditions.
Wednesday: Rain possibility in the west
On Wednesday morning, fog will once again characterize the coastal and inland regions, then partly cloudy weather is expected. In the western regions, skies may become overcast, with light to moderate rainfall possible. Temperatures may slightly rise. Winds will begin from the southeast, then shift to the northeast, blowing at speeds between 10–25 km/h, occasionally strengthening to 35 km/h. Sea conditions will remain mild in both gulfs.
Thursday: Rain possible around Al Dhafra
Thursday will start with the usual foggy morning, followed by partly cloudy and at times overcast skies. There is a chance of light to moderate rain in the Al Dhafra region. Winds will shift from southeast to northeast at 10–25 km/h, with gusts occasionally reaching 35 km/h. Sea conditions will not change significantly: mild to moderate waves in the Arabian Gulf and mild in the Gulf of Oman.
Friday: Temperature drop in the western regions
On the week's closing day, Friday, the morning will also start foggy, followed by partly cloudy or occasionally overcast weather. This will be especially notable in the western regions, where a slight drop in temperature may occur. Winds will continue to shift from southeast to northeast, blowing at 10–25 km/h, with occasional gusts reaching 35 km/h. Sea conditions will remain similar to the previous days.
What should be considered during this period?
The changeable weather affects not only transportation but also clothing and beach and outdoor activities. Foggy mornings can increase the likelihood of fog formation, while stronger winds can reduce visibility, especially in dusty environments. It is advisable for those heading to sea to pay particular attention to forecasts, as moderate or occasionally stormy waves can pose challenges to navigation and water sports.
Although rainy weather might be surprising for many in the UAE, these phases are essential to maintaining climatic balance. The slight drop in temperature, wind movements, and cloudy skies all contribute to creating more pleasant atmospheric conditions after the hot summer months.
Summary
Thus, the first week of November is a transitional period in the UAE, where the weather becomes less predictable, but is part of the natural seasonal change. Clouds, light rain, wind, and moderate temperature fluctuations all signal that the country is at the doorstep of winter. It is advisable to follow forecasts daily, especially if outdoor, hiking, or sea trips are planned. These periods also provide an opportunity to experience the rarer, milder side of the United Arab Emirates—even in the bustling urban environment of Dubai.
