Armenia Welcomes UAE Residents Visa-Free

90 Days Without a Visa: Visa-Free Entry to Armenia for UAE Residents from July 1
Relations between Armenia and the United Arab Emirates are reaching a new level: from July 1, 2025, all UAE residents with a valid residence permit can enter Armenia without a visa for a stay of up to 90 days within any 180-day period. This decision is part of the Armenian government's strategy to boost tourism and strengthen regional economic ties.
What does this mean in practice?
The visa-free policy concerns travel for tourism, business, or leisure purposes. A key condition is that the residence permit must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry. This regulation also applies to residents of other Gulf countries—Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, and Qatar—provided they hold a valid residence permit.
Previously, only UAE citizens could travel visa-free to Armenia, while residents could apply for a visa upon arrival. The new regulation simplifies and speeds up travel, especially for those planning short-term excursions or business trips.
Why choose Armenia?
Due to its geographical location, Armenia is an excellent destination for short trips, being just three hours by flight from the UAE. Major airlines, including flydubai, Air Arabia, and Wizz Air, offer direct flights to Yerevan.
The country is particularly popular among expatriates living in the UAE who seek unique cultural experiences, historical sites, serene natural landscapes, or rich gastronomic adventures. Visitors are drawn to the world-famous UNESCO World Heritage-listed monasteries, the mountainous panoramas, and the traditional Armenian hospitality.
Economic and Tourism Benefits
The introduction of visa-free travel is expected to increase travel numbers and contribute to enhanced economic relations. According to the Armenian government, the decision also facilitates the expansion of business opportunities, particularly in the startup ecosystems, tourism, agriculture, and information technology sectors.
Another positive aspect is that Armenian authorities are not just focusing on GCC countries: the potential for visa-free entry is also expanding for residents of the European Union, the Schengen area, and the United States with residence permits.
Summary
The new regulation, effective July 1, represents a significant step towards simplifying travel and regional integration. Armenia is now even more accessible for UAE residents, presenting an increasingly appealing destination for regional travelers. Whether it's a long weekend in the mountains, a culinary adventure tour, or a business meeting, Armenia has opened its doors—without a visa.
