Ajman Introduces New Paid Parking Zones

Significant changes have taken effect in Ajman's parking system as of June 21, 2025: the municipality announced that 1,263 new paid parking spaces have been activated on the city's key streets. The purpose of the new zones is to regulate traffic and manage vehicle movements more efficiently.
Where are the new parking spaces located?
The new paid parking zones have been established in the following areas:
Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi Street (around Garden City Towers)
Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Nuaimi Street (around Ajman Pearl Towers)
Al-Baraa bin Malik Street
Osama bin Zaid Street
These streets are among the busiest sections in Ajman, so it is expected that the stricter parking rules will alleviate congestion and aid smoother traffic flow.
What rules apply to the new zones?
Parking is charged from Monday to Saturday, and the exact pricing can vary depending on the location.
Parking remains free on Fridays and official public holidays in Ajman.
For example, during the Eid Al Adha holiday, from June 5 to 8, a full exemption from parking fees was provided.
Trends in UAE parking
Ajman's new regulation is not an isolated case—other emirates have taken similar steps. Sharjah introduced paid parking in Al Dhaid as of January 1, 2025, enforced from Saturday to Thursday between 8:00 and 22:00.
In Dubai, zone-based parking has long been present, with the following categories: A, B, C, and D. The premium zones are now marked as AP, BP, CP, and DP, where the hourly fee can reach up to 6 dirhams during peak times (8:00–10:00 and 16:00–20:00).
Why are these changes happening?
The increasing number of vehicles and the continuous development of urban infrastructure have made the modernization of parking systems necessary. The goal of municipalities is not only to reduce traffic congestion but also to ensure fairer parking usage, as well as more reasonable utilization of public spaces.
What to watch out for?
Digital solutions: Most emirates, including Ajman, offer options for payment via SMS or app.
Sign vigilance: Different streets may have varying charged periods and rates, so always check posted signs.
Fines: Improper parking can result in fines, which may be issued immediately by inspectors or digital systems.
