Abu Dhabi Offers Free Parking for New Year
Abu Dhabi Announces Free Parking and Toll-Free Day for New Year 2025
In celebration of the New Year, Abu Dhabi has announced that on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, surface parking fees will be waived throughout the city. The obligation to pay parking fees will resume on Thursday, January 2, at 8 a.m. This measure is designed to ease holiday traffic and ensure smooth parking opportunities for residents. Additionally, parking will be free in the Musaffah M-18 truck parking during the festive period.
Toll Exemption in the Darb System
The Darb toll system will also suspend fee collection on New Year's Day, January 1. However, tolls will be reinstated on Thursday, January 2, during peak hours: between 7 and 9 a.m., and between 5 and 7 p.m.
Important Parking Regulations
The Abu Dhabi Mobility has urged drivers to avoid parking in prohibited areas and to respect traffic flow. Drivers are specifically advised to park only in designated spaces and not to use residential parking areas between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m. This measure aims to maintain the tranquility of residential areas and traffic order.
Holiday Traffic Etiquette
During the holiday period, traffic is often busier, so authorities request that drivers adhere to traffic rules and be considerate of other road users. Proper parking not only helps avoid traffic jams but also contributes to the city's clean and orderly appearance.

The free parking and toll exemption provide Abu Dhabi residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy New Year's celebrations effortlessly.
