Abu Dhabi Launches New Paid Parking Zones

New Paid Parking Zones in Abu Dhabi from July 10
More Efficient Parking and Traffic Management in the Capital
From July 10, 2025, new paid parking zones have been established in several areas of Abu Dhabi as part of the Mawaqif system. According to Q Mobility's announcement, the purpose of these developments is to regulate vehicle movement, make more efficient use of public parking, and optimize traffic in the heart of the emirate.
Where Have the New Zones Been Introduced?
The new paid parking areas have been activated at the following locations:
Eastern Mangroves
Dolphin Park
Sectors along Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street:
Al Khaleej Al Arabi Park 1
Park 2
Park 4
Park 5
Al Qurm Plaza
The above locations now fall under the Mawaqif parking regulations, which means that parking on public streets is available only for a fee as per current regulations.
Why Was the Change Made?
The introduction is part of Q Mobility's long-term strategy aimed at optimizing parking space utilization and reducing illegal parking. The company emphasized that infrastructural work was done beforehand, which included:
repainting curbs,
installing direction signs,
placing attention-grabbing informational signs.
How to Pay?
Users can easily and quickly pay parking fees through the Darb app. On-site informational signs provide clear instructions regarding zones and payment methods. The digitized system allows for contactless, convenient parking, increasingly expected in modern urban transportation.
What to Expect in the Future?
According to Q Mobility, the current measure is just a step in the parking reform across the entire Abu Dhabi island. The goal is to establish a unified, easily manageable, and sustainable system that supports smart city concepts and aligns with the UAE mobility strategy.
Residents and visitors are urged to closely follow on-site signals and prioritize using digital channels for a smooth parking experience.
