The Best UAE Universities for Business and Engineering in 2025

According to the latest Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject, two universities in the United Arab Emirates have ranked among the world's best for business, engineering, and scientific programs. Abu Dhabi University (ADU) was rated the top in the nation for business and economics programs, while the Khalifa University of Science and Technology (KU) excelled in engineering, computer science, and natural sciences.

Abu Dhabi University (ADU) – Best in Business and Economics

This year, the ADU's business and economics program improved by 39 places, ascending to 62nd in the global ranking. As a result, the university not only placed among the world’s top 100 institutions but also took the top spot in the UAE in this category.

ADU performed especially well in three key evaluation indicators:

b, Research Environment

c, Teaching

The institution's engineering programs also ranked among the leaders, placing between 301-400 globally, and it was recognized as offering the best teaching quality in the country.

The chancellor of ADU highlighted the results by stating:

Khalifa University (KU) – Best in Engineering and Sciences

Khalifa University's engineering program also made significant strides, achieving a rank of 126-150 globally. This year, their computer science program entered the 176-200 range for the first time, while their natural sciences programs achieved the same prestigious position.

The president of Khalifa University remarked on the accomplishments by saying:

"This significant progress underscores our deep-rooted commitment to excellence across all our academic programs. The achievements align with the UAE’s vision to become a global leader in various fields, particularly in research and education."

World's Best Universities for Business and Economics Programs

The 2025 Business and Economics Subject Rankings brought substantial changes among the world's top universities:

a, The University of Oxford leads the rankings for the ninth consecutive year, setting a record for continuous first-place finishes.

b, The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) achieved its best-ever position this year, moving up to second place.

c, Harvard University also improved its position, advancing to third place.

d, Stanford University, which previously held second place, dropped to sixth this year.

Asia's Best

Asian universities are increasingly becoming significant players on the global education map:

a, Tsinghua University remains the continent's best, holding 12th place.

b, Peking University closely follows in 13th place.
