Nol Card Minimum Top-Up Rises to AED 50

The RTA has increased the minimum top-up amount for Nol cards from AED 5 to AED 20 in January at metro station ticket offices. As of August 17, the minimum top-up for Nol cards at metro station ticket offices will rise from AED 20 to AED 50, although this change does not apply to those topping up their cards online. "From August 17, 2024, the minimum top-up amount at metro station ticket offices will increase to AED 50," the RTA stated. In January, the RTA raised the minimum top-up amount from AED 5 to AED 20. Passengers need to have a minimum balance of AED 15 on their Nol card to cover a round trip on the metro network. The Nol card is a prepaid smart card that can be used for public transportation in Dubai, including metro, buses, trams, and water buses. It is also valid for taxis, parking lots, Dubai public parks, Etihad Museum entrance fee and payments in over 2,000 shops, restaurants, and stores across the city.
