Maximize Holidays: Turn 13 Days into 45!
How to Turn 13 Leave Days into a 45-Day Vacation with Smart Planning and UAE's 2025 Holidays?
The UAE government has already announced the annual public holidays for 2025, simplifying the planning of longer vacations for residents and tourists. Below, we show you how to combine official public holidays with your annual leave to maximize your leisure time.
January: 5-Day Break (New Year)
New Year's official public holiday is on January 1st. If you took leave on January 2nd (Thursday) and January 3rd (Friday), you could have enjoyed a 5-day long weekend thanks to the Thursday-Friday leave days and regular weekend rest time.
April: 9-Day Break (Eid Al Fitr)
Eid Al Fitr can offer residents up to four days off, depending on whether Ramadan lasts 29 or 30 days. If Ramadan starts on March 1st and ends on March 30th, the Eid Al Fitr holiday will likely be from March 31st to April 2nd. If you apply for leave on April 3rd (Thursday) and April 4th (Friday), you can enjoy a 9-day break.
June: 10-Day Break (Arafah Day and Eid Al Adha)
Arafah Day, Islam's holiest day, will be on June 6th (Friday), followed by the three-day Eid Al Adha celebration from June 7th to June 9th (Saturday to Monday). If you request four more days off from June 10th to June 13th (Tuesday to Friday), you can enjoy a 10-day break, returning to work on June 16th (Monday).
June: 3-Day Break (Islamic New Year)
The Islamic New Year, Muharram 1st, is expected on June 27th, Friday. This could mean a three-day long weekend combined with weekend rest days.
September: 9-Day Break (Prophet's Birthday)
The Prophet's Birthday is expected on September 5th, Friday. If you take four days off from September 8th to September 11th (Monday to Thursday), you can set up a 9-day break.
December: 9-Day Break (National Day)
The last holiday of the year, UAE National Day, falls on December 2nd and December 3rd (Tuesday-Wednesday). If you request leave for Monday (December 1st), Thursday (December 4th), and Friday (December 5th), you can end the year with a 9-day break.
Important Note
The dates of the Eid holidays depend on the lunar calendar and may change based on moon sightings. Non-Eid holidays may be shifted to the beginning or end of the week based on government decisions.
By planning your leave smartly, the UAE public holidays offer excellent opportunities to enjoy longer breaks throughout the year. Plan ahead and make the most of 2025!
